| Marc Bolan forever held the belief that one day he would be famous and also that he would die young - in both respects history was to prove him right. In this stunning programme we use rare footage to take an in-depth view of the man and the musician. Radio DJ Bob Harris discusses in detail Bolan's friendship with fellow DJ John Peel and the reasons why the friendship would founder and die, and of his own feelings about the drive and ambition Bolan exhibited. Long time girlfriend Gloria Jones, son Rolan and friends Steve Harley, Captain Sensible of The Damned and music maestro Mike Mansfield also reminisce about the time spent with a music legend.
The DVD also depicts the events leading up to the darkest of nights for his legion of fans; when the star that burned so brightly would suddenly be extinguished at the tragically young age of 29; a young man who had everything to live for but who would die in such tragic circumstances on that dark road in south-west London. |
